CANDELO VILLAGE FESTIVAL

The Fantastical Mythos of Ordinary Places is our theme this year. Imagine a village

spectacularly adorned with tall-tales, musical jewels and eccentric ephemeral encounters. Local

wonder-makers and far-flung creatives collaborating to weave a grassroots symphony of stories

through the halls, alleyways, creekbed and streets. This year's one-day festival will be an

interactive, multi-disciplinary celebration of mythologies - both real and imagined, personal and

collective - that are embedded in this ordinary, extraordinary place.

We’re delighted to have Sam’s Caravan Stage again this year, alongside a new Candelo creation, Flow Stage - where art meets state-of-the-art closed loop waste management.

Look out for stories being told in unlikely places, the chance to screen print your own merch, masked dancers emerging from the reeds, a dance party at the General Store... and enjoy locally made food and coffee, handicrafts, massage and more in the markets.

Welcome to Country starts at 10am.

Please stay tuned as we release the rest of the exciting schedule!

In addition to the all-day amazing Park Program, offered by donation, we are excited to also announce two Ticketed Town Hall Shows this year:

FOIBLES + FABLES is a family-friendly hour and a half of musical magic, theatre and dance, featuring Johnny Huckle, Ailsa Wild, a Mica Mahani original theatrical vignette, and celebrating The Jonathan Richman Experience on their 10 year anniversary!

Then,

THE ORDINARIUM welcomes adults only (16+) into a transformed and transforming space, where chaos lays its bones bare on the hardwood floor, while creativity sings down from the rafters. What does this mean? you cry - well, your only guide is a Trickster, so you’re going to have to trust your own imagination... Featuring Melbourne band Skink Tank, Double Standard, Pete Wild, Phil Moriarty, Lil Miss Mini, Kitty Hart, and more.
